Manhattan-based Rockefeller University is dedicated to improving the quality of human life through the research and application of biomedical science. Nestled against the East River in between 62nd and 68th streets, and with York Avenue as its western border, the university saw the opportunity to expand outward by growing upward. Limited to a footprint of 8,000 SF and situated between the existing LARC building and the adjacent Weiss Laboratory building, the structure rises three stories tall with a mechanical penthouse. In total, the building consists of seven research suites with associate office and support spaces on each floor.
