Serving as the new home for the Buccini/Pollin Group, a real estate development company, and E.J. DeSeta, a metal fabrication company, the 322 A Street facility is the first phase in the redevelopment of the south side of the Christina River. The building is clearly split to reflect the two components of the program: a 70,000 SF metal fabrication workshop and a 24,000 SF office area. The office building is elevated a full story, creating a covered parking area underneath and boldly asserting its presence at the street intersection. The lower level of the office building houses the E.J. DeSeta offices and connects, via a bridge, to a mezzanine in the shop; the upper level houses Buccini/Pollinís headquarters. Tautly clad in metal and glass, the building energizes its urban setting and makes a clear and distinctive statement within the rapidly developing area.
