This Museum pays homage to the ancient land on which it would sit as well as the Arab / Egyptian culture that continues today. The Museum has been placed in the middle of the site, and by means of its watercourses and path, the activity within the walls has been extended to the Dunal Park beyond. The Museum is divided into two structures, separated by the open-air exhibition / piazza area. Each of the nine chronological periods is expressed in discrete top-lit gallery structures. The five thematic periods are organized within each of the chronological structures, and stretch through glazed links that lie between the exterior spaces defined by the stone walls of the gallery structures. This allows for the thematic routes to periodically reconnect with the site via views from the links to the landscape of the Dunal and Nile parks and provides flexibility in an evolving curatorial dynamic.
