Massachusetts General Hospital
Renovations
Boston, MA
Like many urban academic teaching hospitals, Massachusetts General Hospital is constantly in the process of expanding and updating its programs and facilities to respond to the accelerating pace of change in the delivery of medical services. New projects include demolition of existing outdated buildings to provide expansion capacity for ambulatory care: a reconfiguration of the main entry, approach, signage, and graphics to help separate ambulatory care traffic from inpatient services: and a total amenities program for the public, the patients, and the staff. These projects are designed to address not only the needs of the hospital administration, but the medical staff and support staff as well as the public.
