Delmonico Steakhouse is famed New Orleans restaurateur, Emeril Lagasseís sixth restaurant, the second in Las Vegas. Located on the ground level of the Venetian Hotel & Casino, with convenient enclosed access from the adjacent Sand’s Convention and Expo Center, some 375 patrons can be accommodated. The design kept with the owner’s request of a space with architectural character and scale that highlighted the quiet and distinguished environment that would complement the level of quality of the menu, wine list, and service. The solution involves a play of minimal, modern interior elements against a simple, traditional architectural framework, the inspiration for which came from the unadorned interior spaces found in modest masonry buildings. The result is an understated design that has the feel of a tasteful, stylish adaptation of a pre-existing architectural space.
