United Stated Postal Service
Adaptive Re-use Master Plan
Philadelphia, PA
14,000,000 SF
Master planning and design services for the US Postal Service included a fresh look at the redevelopment potential and scope of their properties from an architectural/engineering standpoint, while continuing to gauge the potential site location in the broader redevelopment plans for Center City Philadelphia. The proposed redevelopment of the property included plans and “vision pieces” for mixed-use development, such as entertainment, commercial / retail, educational, offices, hotel, and residential uses. The sites’ reuse options were evaluated with regard to their potential impact on the historic character of the Main Post Office building. All proposed redevelopment was presented to interested parties, including, but not limited to, representatives of the US Postal Service, Amtrak, the City of Philadelphia, local institutions, and prospective tenants.
